Chenrezig is the bodhisattva of compassion and is often depicted with four arms, each holding different symbolic objects. He/she may also be depicted with eleven heads and a thousand arms, symbolizing his/her compassion reaching out to help countless beings. Chenrezig embodies boundless compassion and is believed to hear the cries of the suffering. The mantra associated with Chenrezig is the famous "Om Mani Padme Hum."
